Size guide for living room chandeliers

Add the length and width of the room in metres and multiply by 10: the result is a good chandelier diameter in centimetres. A 5 × 4 m living room suits a chandelier of about 90 cm; a 4 × 4 m room, about 80 cm. For rooms with ceilings above 4 m, see large chandeliers for high ceilings.

Low ceilings

With a ceiling of 2.5–2.7 m, keep at least 2.1 m between the floor and the bottom of the light. Choose a flat or semi-flush chandelier, a wide ring, or hang the chandelier over a coffee table where nobody walks underneath.
