Bedroom Wall Lights

Why wall lights by the bed

Wall lights keep the nightstand free for books and a phone, give each person their own light, and make a bedroom look calmer and more finished than two table lamps. They also work in small bedrooms where there is no space for a bedside table.

Mounting height and position

• About 120–140 cm from the floor, or 30–40 cm above the top of the mattress.
• 15–30 cm out from the edge of the headboard, so the light falls on the pillow and book.
• For reading, choose a model with an adjustable arm or a shade that directs light down.

Styles

Brass and gold for a warm hotel-like feel. Opal glass for soft, glare-free light. Black for modern and minimal bedrooms. To finish the room, match the wall lights with the ceiling light — see ceiling lights — or with designer table lamps. More designs in wall sconces.

Frequently asked questions

Can a wall light be made with a plug?

Ask us about the model you like: some can be made with a cable, plug and switch, so no electrician is needed.

Which bulbs are best for the bedroom?

Warm white LED bulbs of 2700 K; dimmable bulbs make evening light even softer.

Do you sell them in pairs?

Prices are per light; just order two. Tell us you need a matching pair, and we will make sure the finish matches.
